Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Forge content management service (the "Service") operated by Altovar S.r.l. (registered in Italy). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Forge is a hosted content management platform with editor, API, and storage features. Each customer ("you") gets a workspace ("tenant") scoped to your account.
2. Account & eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or have parental consent) and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity on your account.
3. Plans, billing, and trials
Plans and prices are listed on forge.altovar.net/#pricing. Free plans have usage limits enforced at the API layer. Paid plans bill monthly or yearly via Stripe; charges are non-refundable except where required by law (consumer right of withdrawal where applicable). You can cancel any time from the customer portal — your access continues until the end of the paid period.
4. Content ownership
You retain all rights to content you create with the Service. You grant Altovar a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, and serve that content as needed to operate the Service. We do not sell your content and do not use it to train AI models.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to host illegal, defamatory, or infringing content;
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or run phishing campaigns;
- Attempt to break, exhaust, or reverse-engineer the Service beyond what's permitted by mandatory law (e.g. interoperability);
- Resell access to the Service without our written consent.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules; we'll give notice and a chance to fix things where reasonable.
6. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service on free plans. Pro and Enterprise plans get a 99.9% monthly uptime target with a service-credit mechanism described in the plan documentation.
7. Data residency & sub-processors
The Service runs entirely within the European Union. We list sub-processors (Stripe for billing, Cloudflare for CDN, etc.) in our Privacy Policy. We notify Pro+ customers in advance of changes.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or data, except for cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
9. Termination
You can close your workspace any time from settings. We can terminate the Service for breach of these Terms, in which case we'll give you 30 days to export your data via the GDPR export feature.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms; the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the active version. For material changes we email account admins at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rome, Italy, except for consumer rights that mandatory law assigns elsewhere.
